The show and the theater cost 220 million dollars to develop. Ka is a unique Cirque du Soleil performance in that it offers a more straightforward story. If you are a fan of the theater, and just want to increase the wow-factor, this is the show for you! Ka is a story of love and conflict. The main characters, two imperial twins, have been separated at the prime of their youth and are forced to go through a rite of passage that will lead them to self-discovery. Ka (the real star of the show), is a powerful fire that will either illuminate or destroy anything in its path. Another thing that sets this show apart from others is that it offers four pre-shows. First, guests are greeted by Ka Gatekeepers. Next, they are entertained by two musicians. About ten minutes before the show begins, the audience is astonished by the dangerous acrobatics of a few dare-devil performers. Finally, at about five minutes before show-time, there is a skit performed to inform the audience of Cirque’s policy about flash photography and cell phone use. You will feel like you have been thoroughly entertained before the show even begins!
